Hey there. I'm Mrs. L(P)C.
Let's solve the mystery of the name right out of the gate: professionally, I am an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor.) Personally, my first name starts with an L and my last with a C. It's a quiet little alignment that lets me show up for you with total professional authority while protecting the privacy of my family and preventing online perception from assumptions.
But more than anything? It's a reminder that under the clinical titles and the official badges, I am just a real person.
If you are here because you feel like you are completely losing yourself in the stress of life, I am here about to tell you the raw truth.
If I am being completely honest, my childhood wasn't all sunshine and rainbows It had beautiful, wonderful parts, but it was also deeply enlightening. I grew up seeing the people I loved the most fight heavy, confusing battles. Very early on, I made a promise to myself that I would be a therapist to help people like me, and help people I love.
So, I threw absolutely everything I had into that goal. I checked the boxes. I got the degree. I earned the clinical credentials. On paper, I was screaming "Mama, I made it!"
But life doesn't care about a perfect textbook timeline. While I was building my career, so many other life milestones didn't happen when or how I wanted them to. For a long time, I carried a heavy, silent shame about that. I trapped myself in a brutal loop: I am a therapist. Why don't I have my shit together?
Sometimes life shatters in one singular, dramatic moment. But more often, it's a domino effect. It's a mountain of tiny, heavy moments that quietly pile up until you look in the moment and realize: Wow. At my core, I am just a human trying to figure life out as I go.
When all those little dominos finally caught up to me, it changed everything about how I view mental health.
I looked around at the wellness industry and saw a massive problem. The media pushes toxic, highly aesthetic version of self-care. The clinical world pushes cold jargon and unrealistic, textbook expectations. It's unfair, and it makes normal people feel like they are filing at life when they aren't failing at all. They are just exhausted.
I realized that if I wanted to help the people who needed it the most - the high achievers running on fumes, the teenagers navigating a chaotic home life, the families stretched too thin, and everyone in between - I had to take away the fluff.
While you're here, be sure to check out the Healing Horizons Dictionary to decode the emotional loops and psychological terms you experience every day.
I founded Healing Horizons to make mental health so simple, honest, and accessible that anyone can understand and use its tools. No clinical distance. No judgement. Just real-talk for real-life.
When I am not wearing my Mrs. L(P)C hat, I am usually wearing my mom hat. And let's be real: it is a beautiful, draining, chaotic role. I am currently raising two kiddos alongside my wonderful but workaholic husband, which means my daily reality involves navigating preteen drama, toddler tantrums, time management, and unconditional support at the exact same time.
On weekend, you'll find us out on the field playing sports, swimming, and lounging in the sun. And when I finally get a quiet moment to recharge my own overloaded system? I am drinking an iced coffee, reading psychological thriller (not the heavy textbooks), listening to true crime podcasts, binging reality TC, and honestly, spending way too much time scrolling on my phone.
I am not a perfectly optimized self-care guru. I am a real human living a real, messy life.
Beyond the fun play on my initials, keeping my full identity private is an intentional choice for this community. I want this space to be entirely about your growth, not my personal life. I don't want anyone looking at my specific daily routine, my highlight reel, or my life choices and feeling like they have to match it to be "doing mental health right."
I want to show the world that therapists don't have it all together either - and that is exactly why you can trust me to guide you. An expert badge doesn't protect you from the human experience.
If you are tired of pretending to have it all together, you don't have to do it alone anymore.
